"I want to see a modern version of The Year Without a Santa Claus explaining that the deal between Snow Miser and Heat Miser is what ultimately led to climate change." There were other thoughts that followed this one, which I didn't post for fear that ultra-right wing family members would crucify me at our holiday gathering (Ironic!). These thoughts include, "If they really wanted to make it realistic, the Southern town where Santa's reindeer is thrown in the pound should be super religious. They should condemn everything about Santa. Their wish should be something about keeping Christ in Christmas... Maybe if the filmmakers do that, Republicans would be more willing to accept that climate change is a thing!"
And that's it... so far. It's sad to admit, but I haven't done much for Christmas this year. I mean, I did the usual: Shop for and wrap gifts, watch Christmas specials and movies (including several that were new to me, like The Christmas Chronicles and The Man Who Invented Christmas)... but I haven't READ anything Christmas-y, except for a couple of comic book re-reads, and I haven't WRITTEN anything for the occasion other than the above status update... I guess the month has just gone by too fast. I guess it's true what they say: Life is like a roll of toilet paper. The closer to the end you get, the faster it goes!
That's it for now, except one more thing. I created a sale on Now, Dasher for Christmas. Until the end of Christmas Day, you can use coupon code GG37X to get Now Dasher for half-price here:

But then, if you read the home page or follow me on social media, you already knew that. Just felt the need for one last plug before the sale ends.
Oh wait! I was wrong about the "one last thing." I want to close by saying that I hope you, my readers, have been having a great year and an even better holiday season. Me? Not so much... but I can't help but be grateful for what I have.
In June, my dad nearly died... on his BIRTHDAY. He's better now after spending nearly a month in a nursing home. My uncle had a massive heart attack about two months later. He had surgery and pulled through. My cousin had the flu at Thanksgiving, but she still managed to enjoy the holiday thanks to her husband and his family. My sister's been having unbelievable pain stemming from an injury that happened over 10 years ago. She has surgery scheduled on January 3rd that could (and hopefully WILL) relieve her of that pain.
I had some weird issues in October (ghosts? demons? spiritual warfare?), but nothing all that strange has occurred in over a month... I guess it was just part of that "the veil between our world and the spirits' is at its thinnest" thing that has since passed. I hope.
So, with all the problems over the course of the year, there has been (or will be) closure and everything is well enough as December is coming to a close. That's all a person could hope for, right? But anyway, I hope Christmas brings you as much joy as possible, and I hope 2019 is a better year for us all than 2018 was. Merry Christmas, and happy New Year.
