Young Adult is now playing at our $1.99 theater this week, so I have already made plans to go see it. FINALLY.
Facebook's new rules state that they can suspend or delete personal accounts for soliciting, or that any intellectual property shared via their software can be profited upon by Facebook as its "publisher." As such, I deleted all my fiction and poetry from my profile and my author page. I'll still link to that stuff on Facebook from here, as I don't think Facebook has any publishing rights for stuff linked from other sites. It's a pain in the ass, and it took a LONG time to delete everything, but I did it. I'll probably share the stuff I'd previously posted there on the blog within the next few days.
I found out that Stephen King was supposed to be at the Savannah Book Festival (2/15-19)... I found that out Friday, the day after it started. So I was kinda bummed about that. Young Adult is now playing at our $1.99 theater this week, so I have already made plans to go see it. FINALLY. I was supposed to help an old musician friend brainstorm and maybe write some song lyrics with him today, but he hasn't called. Perhaps that's just as well, as I haven't written anything in days. I probably just need to read something to spark creativity... or even watch a movie about a writer. Both Anonymous and The Rum Diary are now available on DVD, and I'd like to see them both... but money's tight, so I should probably settle for something I already have, or something that's instant on Netflix. They've got Where the Buffalo Roam (no Fear & Loathing in Las Vegas unfortunately), Hey Boo: Harper Lee & To Kill a Mockingbird, Quills, Howl, Magic Trip, Gonzo, and a few other documentaries. Oh, and From Dusk Till Dawn 3, which offers an interesting theory as to what happened to Ambrose Bierce when he disappeared... kinda. hehe I ordered some graphic novels based on books/stories by Anne Rice, HP Lovecraft, and Robert E Howard today. Too bad I won't have them anytime soon. I suppose I could finish my Ray Bradbury book, or read some Conan stories... but frankly I think I'd rather read comics. hehe I have to wait on the current issue of Poets & Writers, as I never got it. It took me quite a while to read the Jan/Feb issue, but now I'm ready for something fresh. I cut some articles and comics out of a past issue and pinned them to my cork board, a picture of which I included below.
