The words I originally wrote for the trailer went like this:
"Some believe in the power to heal oneself by harnessing energy, or the odic force, either by touch or on an astral plane. Dusty Foster never imagined such things possible… But after his wife dies under mysterious circumstances, his life begins to change. He learns of this gift (or curse) and thinks of himself as a psychic vampire… He meets others with his power at a community hall called The Odic Center. However, one dangerous “vampire” could destroy the entire community… a vampire with a taste for blood."
I told Brenda to feel free to tweak the text, and the trailer's actual text reads as follows:
"Some believe in the power to heal oneself by harnessing energy, or the odic force, either by touch or on an astral plane. For Dusty Foster, such beliefs were thought impossible... that is, until his wife dies of mysterious circumstances... changing his life forever. He uncovers this gift, thinking it a curse; and is thrown into a world with others of his kind, only to be pulled down by pain, mystery, and a crime that threatens all. TRUTH; CHANCE; CRIME; and the abilitiy to open your mind, body, and soul. The Odic Touch, a novel by Roy Hudson. Available now!! I also wrote text for Trailer #2, which focuses on the villain rather than the hero... because as much as I identify with my hero, I still like to pull for the bad guy. hehe Here's that:
"A psychic vampire doesn’t have to kill; A psychic vampire doesn’t worry about “turning” its victims; A psychic vampire “feeds” on energy; But the Leech of Lake Olmstead is a psychic vampire… with a taste for BLOOD. Now the only ones who can stop the Leech is a group of other psychic vampires... But with their newest member wanted for murder, it’s easier said than done. I found some dark-sounding free music that I felt would fit the villain's trailer. It's about 2 minutes long, but the site allows samples in increments, and one lasts 60 secs. That should be long enough for this trailer, I think. Hopefully the text won't go by too fast and my fans/friends enjoy watching it as much as I enjoyed writing the text. Leech for the win! Uh, well... when reading the book, one certainly hopes not! Guess you'll have to read it to find out for sure. ;-) Big thanks to those of you who have already read it and written your review. =)
