2. I got an email requesting the rest of my novel Relic, also from my pals at Firefly & Wisp. This might only be 50/50 good news. Remember, a couple weeks ago, a different publisher requested the full manuscript for my novel Flashing Lights. I'm worried I may be submitting too much different stuff too soon. But then, it's possible that only one of them sells. It's also possible that neither of them sells, which I'd rather not happen. Still, I'm nervous as to how I'd handle it should BOTH publishers be interested in publishing their respective novel. It may be a slim chance, but it's still a chance. Hopefully there won't be any nasty consequences, but if there are, I'll try to deal with them accordingly.
3. I wrote a new story today. It might actually count as two stories, though. It started as a 5x5 story (fellow author John Avery challenged me to write one), but as I was away from the internet when I tried and forgot the rules, I wound up writing a 5x5x5 story. I thought, "Hey, that's 125 words. There are contests that take words that are at least 100 words in length! Then I got to looking and found Jeremy C Shipp's Attic Toys anthology guidelines. I could change some of the details in my 5x5x5 story and make it fit... so that's my goal for tonight. With any luck, I'll have two anthologies under my belt before the year is done... I'd like to say maybe THREE, but I still haven't received word from Uncle John's Bathroom Reader: Flush Fiction. Hopefully any day now....
